Anchor Brewing commissioned Steven Noble to render the new Winter Holiday label illustration for their Anchor Christmas Ale. This highly anticipated holiday seasonal offers both a unique recipe and label illustration each year. This year 2022, the subject on the label was the Blue Gum Tree “Eucalyptus globulus” illustrated in a scratchboard woodcut style. With roots dating back to the California Gold Rush, Anchor Brewing Company is America’s first craft brewery, founded in San Francisco in 1896. Today, Anchor combines the time-honored art of classical brewing with carefully applied, state-of-the-art modern methods, producing handmade beer from all-malt mash in a traditional copper brewhouse.
