Barbara Vick Design commissioned Steven Noble to render a series of illustrations for Hinode Rice that includes labels for their Wild Rice, Jasmine Rice, Brown Rice, and Spanish Rice packaging. Hinode is based in Central Valley of California where rice has been produced for over 100 years with international partners in rice growing regions around the world. The purpose for these illustrated labels was therefore to help represent those many diverse regions from around the world. The illustrations were created in a woodcut style and printed on pastic bags using flexography printing techniques.
