Pentagram commissioned Steven Noble to illustrate the Massachussets Institute of Technology (MIT) new updated seal. The artwork was hand-rendered in a scratchboard engraving style. The craftsman at the anvil and the scholar with a book on the seal have been the two important symbolic elements in their official seal for many years which was established back in 1861.
