Steven Noble was tasked with creating an original historical illustration based on the famous first wagon to go through the Rocky Mountains. During the late 1850’s, a group of determined men led by Lt. John Mullan carved the first wagon road through the rocky mountains connecting Fort Benton, Montana with Fort Walla Walla, Washington. Dennis Cakebread, historian and vintner, was inspired by the group’s  adventurous  spirit and set out to explore the Columbia Valley, intent on crafting an exciting red wine blend that captured the essence of this time period. The classic design of the label alludes to the heritage and tradition of that era and celebrates the pioneering spirit of those who made the original journey.
