Skywalker Ranch Properties Ltd. owned by George Lucas tasked Steven Noble to illustrate Skywalker Vineyards symbolic "Skywalker Winged" Icon in the classic scratchboard engraving style. The illustration was created to show a classic Greco-Roman face to be reproduced in many ways that includes everything from printed to sculpted emboss, embroidery, etched glass or metal, burnished into wood, cartouche, blind emboss etc..
Two versions of the Skywalker figure were created to show enough detail to be interesting when seen large, but also hold an iconic silhouette and certain level of detail when reproduced very small at 1/2 inches.
