Yukon Travel commissioned Steven Noble to help create some historical portrait illustrations of some famous explorers (Christopher Columbus, Marco Polo, John Cabot, and Jacque Cartier) from the past to promote tourism through these billboard ad campaigns for the Yukon Territory in Canada. The Yukon is the smallest and westernmost of Canada's three territories and is also is the least populated province or territory and one of the most rugged and isolated provinces in Canada,. One of the portraits includes John Amatt who is one of Canada's most accomplished adventurers and keynote speakers. His presentations are focused on strategies for change management, teamwork, leadership, overcoming adversity and resilience. The illustrations were hand etched in scratchboard.
